You can contact our staff to obtain information on any new GASB pronouncements. You can also review a summary of all GASB pronouncements on the GASB website. A link to the GASB website is provided in the Resources section.

GASB Statement No. 51
"Accounting and Reporting for Intangible Assets" is effective for financial statement periods beginning after June 15, 2009. Implementation required in fiscal year 2010 for cities, counties and school districts.

GASB Statement No. 52
"Land and Other Real Estate Held as Investments by Endowments" is effective for financial statement periods beginning after June 15, 2008. Implementation required in fiscal year 2009 for cities, counties and school districts.

GASB Statement No. 53
"Accounting and Financial Reporting for Derivative Instruments" is effective for financial statement periods beginning after June 15, 2009. Implementation required in fiscal year 2010 for cities, counties and school districts.

GASB Statement No. 54
"Fund Balance Reporting and Governmental Fund Type Definitions” is effective for financial statement periods beginning after June 15, 2010. Implementation required in fiscal year 2011 for cities, counties and school districts.
